Santa Ponsa is known to its beautiful sheltered cove in the south west of Majorca and has been a major holiday destination for the past 40 years. Popular with the British, Santa Ponsa lacks the high rises of the resorts on the east coast, but the area is still very built up, with villas littering the surrounding hilly countryside, and more developments on the way. Visitors have been flocking to this buzzy resort in southwest Majorca since the 1950s. Discover some of the huge stretch of sandy beach, plus a big range of restaurants and nightlife a great place to unwind and relax. And you’re well placed for getting around the island. Check out to the main beach, Playa Santa Ponsa, is a wide expanse of soft, white sands. It’s got every amenity, from loungers and umbrellas to volleyball nets. Behind the sands you’ve a prom dotted with bars and cafes. Get close and personal of wondrous pine woods where, if you look closely, you’ll spot the parakeets. Head towards to the marina and you’ll find across a smaller, quieter stretch, known as Little Beach. There’s plenty to see and do in this cosmopolitan city, not least the vast Seu Cathedral, a skyline-dominating affair begun in 1229. You’ll also get some spectacular views from the well-preserved Bellver Castle, now a museum. And after that, you can have lunch at a café in the Passeig des Born, a wide, tree-lined avenue that offers up some of the best people-watching.
